mondas
A planet within the Milky Way, which drifted out of orbit from around the Earth's sun. Physically it resembled Earth, but the rate of evolution was vastly increased. The humans that lived there learned to replace their dysfunctional bodily organs with plastic and metallic components. Eventually their brains were replaced with computers and they became known as the Cybermen. With Mondas short on energy, the planet drifted back into orbit, passing close to Earth, from which the Cybermen began draining enough energy to replenish themselves. They sought to turn mankind into Cybermen but Mondas absorbed too much energy and exploded.
