A planet within the Milky Way, on the main route used by passenger liners and commercial freighters. It had a large customs and excise responsibility for these space ships. Above the planet, two ships, the Empress and the Hecate, merged as they both came out of hyperspace at the same time. This created unstable matter interfaces, enabling life forms to escape from Professor Tryst's CET Machine. These included the Vraxoin-based creatures, the Mandrels, who rampaged through the liner killing crew and passengers alike. Tryst was smuggling Vraxoin, planning to beam it, via the CET Machine, to the Hecate for collection.
