Docile insectoid cattle found on the planet Vortis, and used by the butterfly-like Menoptra. When the Animus arrived on the planet, the lush vegetation dried up. The Menoptra became enslaved as the Animus took mental control of the Zarbi, turning them into vicious creatures. In turn, the Zarbi controlled the Venom Grubs, larvae that could shoot electrical stings. Many Menoptra fled to Pictos, where they raised an army to reclaim their planet and free the Zarbi. When the Animus had been destroyed, the Menoptra began rebuilding Vortis, and the Zarbi resumed their peaceful, quiet nature.
