A Sontaran field major sent to the devastated Earth after the solar flares had caused it to be evacuated 10,000 years previously. As mankind was slowly returning home, the Sontarans needed to determine how powerful humans were in case they posed a threat. Styre was charged with carrying out obscene experiments on human physiology and mentality, which he did on a group of GalSec colonists. The Doctor returned to Earth from the ark in space to try and repair their transmat terminals. He fought Styre, eventually tiring him out. Harry Sullivan sabotaged Styre's energy supply, destroying him, while the Doctor warned off the approaching fleet.
