Home of the Skonnan Empire which, in its heyday, was feared throughout the galaxy. The Empire was declining however, and the Skonnan leaders allowed a Nimon to build a power complex on their planet. In return for hymetusite and youngsters brought from one of the worlds the Skonnans dominated, Aneth, the Nimon promised to restore Skonnos to its former glories. In reality, Skonnos was doomed. The Nimons were a race of creatures who travelled from planet to planet on their great journey of life, completely raiding the planets of energy. The Doctor stopped the Nimons, but the Skonnan Empire was finished.
