A planet on the very edge of the Milky Way, which was devastated in a war between the Kaleds and Thals. The result of this was the emergence of the Daleks as a universal force and the Thals becoming nomadic farmers. Skaro is the twelfth, and only inhabited, planet in its star system. The Daleks soon abandoned it as did the Thals once they had developed interplanetary travel. The Daleks returned to Skaro, after losing their war with the Movellans, in search of the Hand of Omega. Davros activated this, which caused Skaro's sun to go nova, obliterating Skaro and the other eleven planets in the system.
