With their forces decimated after losing the war against the Movellans, the Daleks utilised duplicates of humanoids to bolster their forces. The Daleks also planned to send duplicates of the Doctor and his companions to Gallifrey in order to assassinate the High Council. They created copies of Turlough and Tegan Jovanka as well as the Doctor. Having captured the Time Lord, they attempted to drain his mind and thus program his duplicate. However, the Doctor escaped and destroyed the copy of his brain print. The inactivated duplicates were destroyed along with the Dalek ship.
