Royal figurehead of Atrios, the sixth princess of the sixth dynasty of the sixth royal house, she was also the sixth disguised segment of the Key to Time, sought by the Black Guardian and his minion, the Shadow. In love with a surgeon, Merak, she had met during the war that raged on her home planet, Astra was kidnapped by the Shadow, and was briefly turned into the segment. Later she was returned to her true form by the White Guardian and stayed with Merak. Romana liked Astra's countenance so much that she modelled her subsequent regeneration on her.
