Inhabitants of the planet Karfel, the Morlox were low-intelligence, large, snake-like reptiles which lived underground. The Karfelon scientist, Magellan, had experimented on them illegally and was reported to the Karfelon leaders by the Doctor. Later, Magellan was accidentally sprayed with mustakozene-80, a chemical that created instant mutations. Magellan was fused with a Morlox, and realised that if he could rid the planet of the Karfelons, he could repopulate the planet with similar hybrids.
