The Ice Warrior representing Mars on the planet Peladon when its king applied for membership of the Galactic Federation. Despite the Doctor's initial distrust of Izlyr's motives, the Ice Lord, along with his subordinate Ssorg, aided the Doctor in exposing the plot to discredit the Martian delegation by the delegate from Arcturus. Hepesh, the fanatical High Priest, threatened that the spirit of Aggedor would destroy them all if they allowed Peladon to join the technological civilisation that was the Federation. Izlyr was very surprised when the real Chairman from Earth arrived, claiming no knowledge of the Doctor, just as King Peladon of Peladon's coronation began.
