An egg-shaped device placed inside a pyramid on Mars which transmitted a radio warning about the Osirian, Sutekh. The Eye was the source of power which kept Sutekh immobile inside the Black Pyramid in Egypt. Sutekh used the reanimated corpse of Marcus Scarman to travel with a mesmerised Doctor to Mars and destroy the Eye, thus freeing him. The Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith had to solve many traps and riddles before reaching the Eye, by which time Scarman had ordered a servicer robot to destroy it. The resultant radio signal that would free Sutekh took two minutes to reach Earth.
