quest for the key to time
The White Guardian of Time sent the Doctor and Romana on a mission to locate the six disguised segments of the Key to Time. His intention was to restore the balance of calm and chaos to the Universe. The segments were safely located but once reassembled, the Black Guardian of Time attempted to trick the Doctor into giving him the Key. However, the Doctor disassembled it, scattering it back throughout the cosmos, having given the White Guardian enough time to restore the balance, and thus earning the enmity of the Black Guardian.
