Daughter of King Peladon of Peladon who took over the planet while very young. Along with Chancellor Ortron, she tried to balance the good of her planet with the demands of the Galactic Federation during their war with Galaxy Five. She became good friends with the Doctor's companion, Sarah Jane Smith, and resolved to become a stronger ruler rather than letting Ortron override her decisions simply because he was a man. Thalira was taken hostage by a desperate Eckersley, but rescued by Aggedor, who died protecting his queen.
