Inhabitants of the planet Jaconda, bird-like humanoids who follow the teachings of the master of Jaconda, a Time Lord called Azmael. Jaconda was overrun by the Gastropods, a species which they had believed to be mythical. Many of the Jocondans switched their allegiance from Azmael to their own leader, Mestor. Those loyal to Azmael helped overthrow the Gastropods, killing Mestor and freeing their planet. After Azmael's death, the human police officer Hugo Lang remained on Jaconda to become its new master.
