Now a desert planet, but once a beautiful world of deep oceans, populated by the Aridians and their predators, the Mire Beasts. A change of orbit brought the planet closer to its twin suns, evaporating the oceans and sending the Aridians beneath the sandy surface. There, they were forced to conserve as much water as possible. The Daleks came to Aridius in search of the Doctor and the TARDIS. With the aid of some Aridians, the TARDIS crew escaped, and the Daleks left Aridius to chase after them.
